Ian and Doris Feltham fell in love in Oxford, England during WWII while Ian flew solo photo surveillance missions over Germany. The moment when Ian came face to face with a Luftwaffe rocket plane was just another day at the office for him. But Doris never knew whether he would return from his mission. She carried on, accustomed to uncertainty in the face of danger, having survived the Blitz and the bombing of her home in London among the other horrors of war. Later, she journeyed with thousands of war brides to the unfamiliar territory of the United States, which proved to be almost as unnerving as her wartime experiences.
