Virgil Porter - Army
Virgil Porter is a Korean War veteran and a 2008 recipient of the Heart of Service award. The Heart of Service award was created to recognize the dedication, sacrifice and accomplishments of local people who do extraordinary things for their neighbors, their community or the environment.
Mr. Porter, a long time resident of Port Hadlock, has for more than a decade volunteered five days a week beginning at 6:00 a.m. to drive vans and coordinate local van service to the Veterans Hospital in Seattle for the Disabled American Veterans.
